Description
We become what we see is a pointed and often satirical game that explores the relationship between the media, the audience and reality. You control a small cameraman and can decide which events in a small, square world are photographed and published. Your photos influence what the public sees - and that in turn influences their behavior. When you photograph strife and conflict, the population begins to behave more aggressively, leading to even more chaos, which you can then photograph again. The game is an experiment in causality and shows in a humorous but disturbing way how media coverage and the search for clicks can create a spiral of outrage and hostility.
Simulation highlights:
- Media criticism: Shows in a simple way the cycle of sensationalism and social reaction.
- Causal control: Your decisions (what you photograph) directly influence the behavior of the characters.
- Short and concise: A short experience with a strong, thought-provoking message.
- * Minimalist aesthetics: The simple stick figure graphics emphasize the satirical tone.
